Path to Black Belt
Here you will find helpful information related to testing.
Gup testing is for students ages 7 and up. We test every 3 months. White and Orange belt ranks, 24 Minimum classes are required to be eligible to test, with 3 active months of training.
Green, Brown and Red belts test at instructor’s recommendation.
Gup testing is scheduled for the last Saturday in
January 25 - April 26 - July 19/26 - October 25
Dragon testing is on the Friday before our Gup tests.

Black Belt Testing
To test you need your instructor’s recommendation.
Be a blue belt in good standing. Age 10 or older.
Participate in 1 regional tournament and 1 black belt camp, as a red or blue belt.
Ages 14+ required to test as a time keeper score keeper.
Submit Testing Fee to your school.
18 Months of training as a blue belt, with a minimum of 72 classes required.
Black belt testing is twice a year, in Connecticut. Students that pass the test, receive their rank at the next regional tournament.
